La vida en Holanda

Life in the Netherlands

Roos y Marieke nos han explicado algunas cosas sobre su país, como por ejemplo:
Roos and Marieke have explained to us some things about their country such as:
  • cómo es su geografía y cómo han sabido ganarle terreno al mar
  • how their geography is and how they have gained ground in the sea
  • cómo es el sistema educativo holandés
  • how the Dutch education system is
  • cómo es su instituto
  • how their school is
  • cómo es la vida típica de los estudiantes
  • how students normally live
También nos han enseñado algunas palabras y expresiones en holandés. ¡Qué difícil!
They have also taught us some words and expressions in Dutch.
It's so difficult!

  1. Spanish education system is quite different to the Dutch one. We start to study when we are 3 and when we finish the primary school we have to continue studying till we are 16 because it's compulsory. After 4 ESO (16 years old) we can choose if we want to continue with our studies or leave them. But we don't have to do any 'official exam' only the PAU, when we are 18(if we continue studying),to go to the university.

  2. Hey there! I really liked Marieke and Roos' presentation, since they explained to us briefly the main differences (and similarities!) between student life here and in Holland. It was pretty clear and the conclusion is positive!

Hi! I really enjoyed this presentation, in my opinion, the main difference between our school system and the school system in Holland is the division of the school years. They have to do an exam when they are going to go to the high school (I mean they do the exam at the last year of primary school) to focused them at the kind of studies they would like to do in the future. Furthermore, they start at school at the age of four, one year after us.

    Ay Helenaaaa! :D

I think the presentation was really good and profesional, including some funny points about the dutch way of life.
I got surprised with the education system, so much complex tan us, but it had some interesting aspects.

  5. hi there! Marieke and Roos did a great job. Both presented us the educative system in the Netherlands. If we compare with our system the main difference we can find is the division of the courses, and there they have to do three official exams before going to university, here in Spain we only have to do PAU. furthermore we are all together until the age of 15, and then we separated in different bachelors, instead they start to study specific subjects when they are 13-14. However we can find similarities as the bilingual section in both countries.

  6. HI everybody! Roos and Marieke's presentation was great, really interesting. I didn´t know anything about he educative system in the Netherlands. I think it´s more complicated but also more efficient and effective.
There are similarities too, like the bilingual section.

  7. Hey! To begin with I'd like to thank Roos and Marieke's job because in my opinion it's very interesting to know facts about other countries' education system and compare them to ours. Although for me it was quite weird, I think theirs is better. I believe it has pros but also contras. For instance, there you have to do an earlier choice to decide what you'd like to study in a future. Nevertheless, you choose what you want to study depending on your skills, and not on what you really like.
